African Violet Society of Dayton

The African Violet Society of Dayton is an affiliate of the African Violet Society of America – AVSA (www.avsa.org) and the Ohio State African Violet Society – OSAVS (www.osavs.org). Monthly meetings are usually held at 2 pm, on the third Sunday of the month at the Springboro Municipal Building’s Community Room (320 W. Central Ave., Springboro, Ohio 45066)

The focus of the club is to provide an atmosphere of support for those interested in the culture and propagation of African Violets and their cousins in the Gesneriad family. Annual membership is $15/person or $20/family.

Several members are accredited AVSA judges. We are fortunate to also have the Gesneriad Society president Mel Grice and Pat Hancock (internationally renowned African violet hybridizer – founder of the Buckeye and Jitterbug series of African violets) as members. Many of Pat’s hybrids can be seen at Violet Peddlers Plus Facebook page. (https://www.facebook.com/groups/193435751944153/).

Our members can be generous to a fault regarding sharing plants and knowledge with others – and are always willing to ‘Spread the Love.’
